Our Story
Casali di Bibbiano was founded by prominent restaurateur, Alberto Guadagnini, in 1996. Over the years he lovingly restored and added to the estate all to create an authentic Tuscan getaway that combined the best parts of a private villa experience with the special amenities usually found in boutique, luxury hotels. For its many guests, the estate has come to feel like a second home. It’s renowned for its attentive, bespoke service, stunning vistas, and amazing wine and dining experiences.
The estate has hosted dignitaries, celebrities, and families alike from around the world all looking for that perfect Tuscan escape. But it’s this dedication and attention to detail that help transform travelers into family at Casali di Bibbiano and it’s why so many guests return again and again.
The property was purchased at the end of 2022 by Bibbiano Partners – a diverse group of entrepreneurs. As extensive luxury travelers throughout Italy and the world, they fell in love immediately with Casali di Bibbiano for all the unique qualities and charm that make it so appealing to sophisticated and discriminating travelers.
They are eager to share Casali with all of their friends and colleagues and look forward to making many new friendships, as well. Their goal is to maintain the unique atmosphere and culinary experiences that Alberto first helped cultivate thirty years ago and in the years to come they aim to more thoroughly reveal the inherent beauty of the property and the surrounding locale and help elevate the villa experience of Casali di Bibbiano to new heights.
Winery
In combination with its luxury villas and amenities, Casali di Bibbiano operates as a full-production winery of award-winning Tuscan wines.
The wines of the Val d’Orcia region are truly hidden gems. Visitors can be guaranteed that the careful attention given to the Casali di Bibbiano property and its guests carries over to its wines and cuisine, as well.
The trio of Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot grapes that compose the estate’s wines and the meticulous care that goes into their production has largely been a secret to those lucky few that have visited Casali in the past. Over the coming years every effort will be made to both increase awareness of the existing wines and to apply new winemaking techniques to further enhance what can come from these amazing vineyards, facilities and people.
The winery is open to the general public for tours and wine tastings. In the meantime, please take a moment to visit our Wine shop or join us for lunch from our Tuscan kitchen with wine pairings!

The estate sits in a corner of Tuscany where nature, history, and art give life to a landscape recognized in 2004 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has acres upon acres of vineyards, gardens, and hilltop views that the villas of Casali di Bibbiano look out upon. These have been the focus of works of art from Renaissance painting to modern photography.
The estate also boasts a stunning swimming pool, gym, tennis and basketball courts, and access to the world-renowned golf course, Castiglion del Bosco. Situated just a few kilometers from Buonconvento and a short drive from Montalcino and Siena guests can also visit the nearby medieval villages of Bagno Vignoni, San Quirico D’Orcia, and Monticchiello or tour the Cappella di Vitaleta or the iconic Bosco di Cipressi.
