Our story

Casali di Bibbiano was founded by prominent restaurateur, Alberto Guadagnini, in 1993. Over the years he lovingly restored and added to the estate creating an authentic Tuscan getaway that combined the best parts of a private villa experience with special amenities usually found in boutique, luxury hotels.

For its many guests, the estate has come to feel like a second home. It’s renowned for its attentive service, stunning vistas, and amazing wine and dining experiences.

The estate has hosted dignitaries, celebrities, and families alike from around the world all looking for that perfect Tuscan escape. But it’s the dedication and attention to detail that help transform travelers into family at Casali di Bibbiano and it’s why so many guests return again and again.

The property came under new ownership in late 2022 when a tightly knit group of friends bought the estate. As extensive luxury travelers throughout Italy and the world, they fell in love immediately with Casali di Bibbiano for all the unique qualities and charm that make it so appealing to sophisticated and discriminating travelers. They are eager to share Casali with all of their friends and colleagues and look forward to making many new friendships, as well.

Their goal is to maintain the unique atmosphere and culinary experiences that Alberto first helped cultivate and in the years to come they aim to more thoroughly reveal the inherent beauty of the property and the surrounding locale and help elevate the villa experience of Casali di Bibbiano to new heights.

The Winery

In combination with its luxury villas and amenities, Casali di Bibbiano operates as a full-production winery of award-winning Tuscan wines.

Visitors can be assured that the careful attention given to the Casali di Bibbiano property and its guests carries over to its wines, as well.

The wines of the Val d’Orcia region are truly hidden gems. The trio of Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot grapes that compose the estate’s wines and the meticulous care that goes into their production has largely been a secret to those lucky few that have visited Casali in the past.

Over the coming years every effort will be made to both increase awareness of the existing wines and to apply new winemaking techniques to further enhance what can come from these amazing vineyards, facilities and people. New winemaking and land cultivation techniques have already begun to be implemented to further enhance these amazing vineyards, facilities and terroir.

The winery is open to the general public for tours and wine tastings. To schedule a tasting, join our wine club, or to just visit our Wine Shop please click below.
